COVID-19 In Belarus: 3,728 Infected, Plus 447 New Cases In 24 Hours
As of 15 April, 3,721 people have tested positive for coronavirus and 36 died in Belarus since the outbreak, the Healthcare Ministry reports.

68 patients are currently put on a ventilator. That is, the daily increase of new coronavirus cases in the country is 447 people. Recall that the record increase in the number of new cases was on 9 April, when 495 people were diagnosed with coronavirus.

The last week the number of cases continues to increase by several hundred per day. As of today, 24 laboratories carried out 76,198 COVID-19 tests. The Healthcare Ministry explains it by the fact that more tests for coronavirus infection have been carried out in the past few days.

“Over the past several days we have been registering about the same number of new cases a day – 340-360. We expect that the same trend will remain for another 2-3 weeks,” Deputy Healthcare Minister Yelena Bogdan said.

Experts mostly register not imported cases, that is the virus is transmitted from person to person within the country. According to Healthcare Minister Vladimir Karanik, the peak incidence is expected in late April-early May.

The WHO recommends Belarus to postpone public events, introduce physical distancing and distance learning, create opportunities for remote work and reduce the movement for the elderly and people with chronic diseases.
