As of 13 April, 2,919 people have tested positive for coronavirus in Belarus since the outbreak. 203 of them recovered, 29 people died, the Healthcare Ministry reports.
“Most patients have mild or moderate symptoms, 55 patients are put on a ventilator. A total of 203 people have recovered after getting treatment and were discharged from hospitals. 29 deseased had chronic diseases exacerbated by the coronavirus infection.”
The country has performed over 64,000 coronavirus tests so far. Seventeen laboratories are involved in testing. Earlier the ministry explained the increase in the confirmed cases of COVID-19 by an increase in the number of tests performed.
“We must be ready for the fact that the number of the registered COVID-19 cases will increase. The more we test people, the more is the number,” said Deputy Minister of Health Elena Bogdan at a briefing.
