Chief legal adviser of Minsk Consumer Association Hanna Kryshan was detained by the police, taken to a police office and left alone in a forest afterwards. The woman has described the incident to Radio Liberty. She was detained near her sister’s house in Hatava at about 11 p.m. on August 18, the woman said.

Hanna Kryshan’s sister was also detained together with her husband. The policemen did not introduce themselves. They put handcuffs on the three people and took them to the district police office. Neighbours’ complaints about noise (loud music) could be the reason for the detention, Hanna thinks. However, the policemen did not explain anything.

The detained were not allowed to sit down and had to wait for some time at the police office but no protocol was drawn up. Finally, they were taken to a forest and let off there. The woman got home only at 4 a.m.
