He was convicted of unlawfully depriving her of liberty.
Interestingly, the local police and the Investigative Committee did not find any elements of crime in the man's actions . Prosecutor brought the case to court.
As Maxim Ageyenka, prosecutor in charge of supervision and inquiry of Minsk region told BELAPAN, the 34-year-old native of Luban area and resident of Salihorsk was convicted for forcibly putting his girlfriend repeatedly and against her will in the trunk of his car and then going on on his business. The couple were together since 2010.
Luban District Attorney, using the statutory authority, filed a criminal case against the man. As a result, it was found out that in August 2012 the man, acting out of jealousy and overcoming the resistance of the 23-year-old Minsk student, forcibly put the girl in the trunk of his car and then drove around the territory of Luban district. The second case occurred in April 2013, when after the woman declined to sit in the car to talk, the man used violence against her will and pushed her into the cabin of the car, closed it from the inside and drove away, depriving the victim of the opportunity to safely leave the car.
At the hearing the accused pleaded not guilty, explaining that he did so with a girl wanting to have it out with her. This argument was not taken into account as respectful by the court, and the man was found guilty of committing an offense under Part. 1 art. 183 of the Criminal Code. He was sentenced to two years of imprisonment in a penal colony under the general regime. The accused disagreed with the verdict, appealed it, but the appeal court upheld the verdict.
