In Minsk the last accused in “December 19 case“ is on trial

In Minsk Maskouski District Court opened the hearing of the criminal charges brought against Sviataslau Baranovich, the last accused in the criminal case over the "mass riots" on 19 December 2010.
As reports the press service of Viasna Human Rights Center, the trial is postponed till 28 Septermber, the accused restraint is changed to a travel ban.
The trial is headed by the judge Alena Rudnitskaya, the prosecutor Seryakov is from the accusation side. 30 policemen participate in the trial as injured party. Only 12 of them came to the courtroom today. As a result, the judge decided to move the process on September 28. Also, the judge granted attorney's petition of changing the restraint to a travel ban.
Sviataslau Baranovich from June 15 was detained in Minsk pre-trial prison № 1 in Valadarski street. Sviataslau is charged under Par. 2 Art. 293 of the Criminal Code "participation in mass riots" and may be imprisoned for up to 8 years.
