Belarus has no plans to return to winter time

Euroradio

Plans to switch to winter time are not discussed in Belarus, as Russia is set to make the shift this coming autumn.

Minsk Naviny quotes the press office of the State Standards Committee that this issue has not been even raised yet.

Officials at the State Standards Commiittee says it has recorded no complaints from citizens about the current time regime.

The winter time was abolished in Russia in the summer of 2011 at the initiative of the then president Dmitry Medvedev. Belarus followed Russia to refuse from time change, citing the need to coordinate the time with the Customs Union member states.
