Macron invites Lukashenka to Paris

French President Emmanuel Macron has invited Belarusian President Aliaksandr Lukashenka to take part in the festivities dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the World War One end, reports Belsat quoting Christophe Lejeune, a French MP abd the president of the Franco-Belarusian friendship group. Lukashenka is yet to confirm his participation. If he agrees, he will be among over 120 dignitaries from around the world attending an international memorial ceremony near the Arch of Triumph on 11 November. Lukashenka could also have breakfast at the Elysee Palace.

Belarusian president's spokesperson Natallia Eismont confiirmed tut.by that the invitation had arrived from France indeed. "This issue is being considered but we have to take into account the head of state's schedule," Eismant noted.

Euroradio reported earlier that Aliaksandr Lukashenka met with the French president unofficially after the 2018 FIFA World Cup final in Moscow.
