Democratic activist Franak Vyachorka, forcefully drafted into the army, refused to fill in a census from in Russian and demanded to give him a form in Belarusian. The command of the military unit refused to fulfil the lawful request of the activist. read more

Andrus Krechka elected chairman of youth wing of Belarusian Popular Front
Out of the 64 delegates present at the meeting, 35 voted to elect the 22-year-old Krechka, whereas his opponent, Alyaksandra Klimovich, received 28 votes. One delegate voted against both candidates. read more
Supreme Court refuses to hear Belarusian Party of Working People's suit
The Supreme Court of Belarus has refused to hear a suit filed by the Belarusian Party of Working People against the justice ministry, which ordered the party’s founders to submit additional papers for a decision on their registration application to be made. read more

Chairman of the United Civil Party Anatoly Lebedko was not allowed to attend public hearings on the issue of nuclear power station construction, which took place today in Ostrovec. One of the organizers, Alexander Barsukov, prohibited Lebedko to enter the hall. read more

The Movement for Freedom has launched a photograph contest devoted to the forthcoming Belarusian European Forum. A "cultural and educational" trip to one of the capital cities of Europe is to be the award for the best photograph. read more
