The Movement for Freedom has launched a photograph contest devoted to the forthcoming Belarusian European Forum.

Entries are invited from citizens of Belarus over 18 who "can use photographs to express their views of Belarus as an integral part of Europe," said the press office of the Movement.

The pictures should reflect Belarus' cultural and historical affinity with European countries and the similarity of landscapes, lifestyles and traditions, the press office said.

Twenty top-rated photographs will be displayed at the Belarusian European Forum. A jury will then select the three finalists. A "cultural and educational" trip to one of the capital cities of Europe is to be the award for the best photograph.

The Belarusian European Forum, scheduled to take place in Minsk on November 14, is expected to draw about 1000 participants. Invitations to attend the event have been sent to members of the European Parliament, European Union officials, foreign lawmakers and officers of the diplomatic missions of EU countries and countries participating in the EU's Eastern Partnership program.

Alyaksandr Milinkevich, leader of the Movement for Freedom who chairs the organizing committee for the forum, has personally invited Jerzy Buzek, president of the European Parliament, to be a guest of honor.
The organizing committee also includes members of the Belarusian Christian Democracy party, the Party of Freedom and Progress, Malady Front and some other organizations.
