Only four contenders have collected the necessary number of signatures.
The Belarusian Central Election Commission published the preliminary results of the check-up of signatures collected by presidential contenders on September 1.
Alyaksandr Lukashenka’s team presented 1 753 380 real signatures (out of 1 761 145), Syarhei Haidukevich’s– 139 877 (out of 140 735), Mikalai Ulahovich’s – 149 819 (159 805) and Tatstsyana Karatkevich’s team – 105 278 (107 299). The CEC found only 6 699 real signatures among the 130 404 signatures collected for Victar Tsyareshchanka. It means that Tsyareshchanka’s team presented over 123 thousand fake signatures. Haidukevich and Karatkevich presented have the least number of fake signatures.
The CEC is planning to register presidential candidates on September 10, BELTA reports.
