The results of the signature collection campaign will show who of the 8 potential candidates will run for President.

August 21 is the last day for presenting signatures needed for the registration of presidential candidates in Belarus. Two initiative groups may not be able to collect enough signatures in time – unemployed Zhanna Ramanouskaya and leader of the United Civil Party Anatol Lyabedzka.

Leader of the party of the left Fair World Syarhei Kalyakin is also worried about having little time to collect enough signatures.

Leader of Liberal-Democratic Party Syarhei Haidukevich, Cossack chieftain Mikalai Ulahovich, businessman Victar Tsyareshchanka and activist of the campaign Tell the Truth Tatstsyana Karatkevich say that they have collected the necessary number of signatures. The incumbent President has collected a million signatures, the CEC reports.

The CEC is planning to register the presidential candidates by September 10.
