In December 2014, Belarus suffered regular fall in gold and money reserves. In accordance with the IMF methodology, they decreased by 760.8 million dollars. On 1 January, 2015 the gold and money reserves amounted to 5 bln 59.15 mln dollars. It is reported by BelTA referring to statistics of the National Bank.
But on the national scale the volume of gold and money reserves decreased by 691.6 million dollars. At the beginning of the year, it amounted to 5 billion 716 million dollars (preliminary data).
Recently, it became known that the foreign debt of Belarus on December 1, 2014 amounted to 12 billion 800 million dollars. This year, our country has to repay the internal and external public liabilities of over $4 billion. Approximately $3.1 billion will have to be transfered to repay and service the external public debt.
