International human rights organization Amnesty International recognized the photographer Anton Suryapin sitting in KGB prison as the prisoner of conscience.
Suryapin was arrested on July 13 after a search of his Minsk apartment. Photographer was the first who published pictures of teddy bears, dropped from the Swedish aircraft. The charges are not brought to Anton, but he spent in "Americanka" (special KGB prison - udf.by) more than 10 days on suspicion of facilitating illegal border crossing by an organized group. He faces up to seven years in prison.
We remind, on July 24, Amnesty International issued a statement in which it called for immediate release of Suryapin and urged to dismiss charges against him.
