The first deputy head of Minsk city executive committee Ihar Vasilieu has been detained for bribery.
This has been informed by General Prosecutor Alyaksandr Kanyuk, reports BELTA. The General Prosecutor refused to give any more details - according to him, the investigation is in process now.
Let us remind you, the information about the official's detention appeared a couple of days ago. However, Minsk city executive committee refused to confirm this information.
Alyaksandr Lukashenka appointed Ihar Vasilieu to Minsk city executive committee on October 4, 2010. This official was responsible for the issues of energy, communal economy, as well as the Tender Center and city auto roads repair of Minsk city executive committee. Back on July 5, a session of the city commission on traffic movement security took place under the leadership of Ihar Vasilieu. They considered the issue of parking spaces in the yards. This session was broadly covered by the media.
Vasilieu was born in 1960. He used to work as a director of Minsk integrated plant of silicate products before he came to Minsk city executive committee.
