April 26, on the 24-th anniversary of the Chernobyl disaster a delegation of the United Democratic Forces visited areas affected by the Chernobyl accident.
Among members of the delegation were the UDF co-chairmen Syargei Kalyakin and Anatol Lyabedzka. Politicians visited Khoiniki and Bragin districts, as well as the city of Gomel where they had meetings with people, laid flowers to the monuments to resettled villages and liquidators.
The event ended in Gomel with laying of flowers to the chapel erected in memory of the tragic events of 1986.
It should be recalled that UDF leaders visit the area annually. During the last few years the politicians visited Korma, Bragin, Narovlya, Chechersk, and Khoiniki.
