Two men were arrested at the Minsk National Airport on April 6 on suspicion of trafficking women to Israel for sexual exploitation, said the press office of the State Border Committee.

One of the men was a citizen of Belarus and the other held both Israeli and Russian citizenship, according to the press office.

The Belarusian is believed to have been responsible for recruiting women.

Criminal proceedings have been instituted against the two men on a charge of trafficking in human beings.
An investigation has been launched in both Belarus and Israel to establish where the trafficking ring operated and how many women became its victims, the press office said, adding that several women have already been returned to Belarus.
