Iran to scrap visas for visitors from 33 countries, including Belarus
Iran's Minister of Cultural Heritage, Handicrafts and Tourism Ezzatollah Zarghami has announced that Iran will abolish visas for passport holders from 33 countries, including Belarus.

The countries included in Iran's new visa waiver program are India, the Russian Federation (for group visits), the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Kuwait, Lebanon, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Tunisia, Mauritania, Tanzania, Zimbabwe, Mauritius, Seychelles, Indonesia, Brunei Darussalam, Japan, Singapore, Cambodia, Malaysia, Vietnam, Brazil, Peru, Cuba, Mexico, Venezuela, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia and Croatia.

According to the minister, this move is designed to bring in more tourists from all over the world.

The latest data provided by the tourism ministry shows that 4.4 million foreigners visited Iran over the eight months since 21 March 2023, up by 48.5% year-on-year.
