A music concert will take place for the first time in history on a Minsk metro station's platform. The Minsk city TV channel STV reports the event will be held as part of Yuri Bashmet International Music Festival. The organizers have picked the Piatrouscyna metro station in south-western Minsk for the concert to start at 2 a.m. on 14 October.
"The kick-off is at 2 a.m.," says Rostislav Krimer, a pianist, conductor and the artistic director of the festval. "The seats will be placed simply on the platform. There will be a light show, a laser show. The lineup includes Bez Bileta, Dyadya Vanya, my orchestra, a choir and an orchestra with a Stradivari violin. It is a very cool concept."
The number of people at the concert will be limited to around 400, according to Krimer. He suggested to follow the developments on the festival's website bashmet-festival.com.
