Both the city authorities and organizers of the Belarusian People's Republic 100th anniversary celebration need to find the right balance which will suit everyone and to hold the festive events in a civilized way, Interior Minister Ihar Shunevich told Euroradio.
"Both the authorities and the organizers must find a common language and make sure that [the celebration format] suits both sides. The more peacefully, quietly, and in a civilized way, and natutally observing all the historical requirements it is organized, the better it will be for the police. Hence, I commend the desire of the authorities and organizers to strike a balance and make sure everything is organized in a civilized way without mutual reproaches and tensions. After all, this is our history, and one needs to treat it with respect," Minister Shunevich said.
According to Shunevich, he personally supports the format when celebrations are organized as a rally and a concert. A demonstration is a more complicated event organizationally, the minister noted.
