Ten Minsk officials detained by KGB
A group of Minsk officials is suspected of large scale bribery.

KGB has detained a group of 10 officials, headed by Syarhei Barysevich, chairman of the chief department of the consumer market of the Minsk city executive committee.

The detainees are suspected of receiving large amount of bribe money from businessmen for help with getting contracts (purchase at inflated prices etc.) with subordinate enterprises and organizations.

The KGB has opened a criminal case against the detained officials under articles 430 (bribery) and 432 (mediation in bribery) of the Criminal Code.

They face up to fifteen years of imprisonment with confiscation of property and deprivation of the right to occupy certain positions or engage in certain activities.

The detainees are currently in custody.

The investigation continues, the KGB press service reports.
