English returns in Minsk metro announcements
Announcements in the Minsk Metro are now made in Belarusian and English. English was added for the first time in May 2014 when the Belarus capital hosted The World Ice Hockey Championship. The English announcements were removed some time after the end of the championships on the grounds that they prevented the trains from keeping the schedule.

English has now returned to the Minsk Metro in light of the the 5-day visa-free regime that will come into force on February 12. Citizens from 80 states, including all countries of the European Union, United States, Canada and other 'strategic partners' will be able to spend 5 days in Belarus without a visa on condition that they arrive/depart at/from the Minsk international aiport aka National Airport Minsk.
