Twice more Belarusian students go to study abroad in comparison with foreigners who come to study in Belarus, according to a research conducted by Belarus State University (BSU) and based on various data including the UNESCO statistics.
About 35 thousand Belarusians go to study abroad every year and only about 15 thousand foreigners come to study in our county, BSU associate professor Lyudmila Fakeyeva said at the conference “Migration and Demographic Development of the Republic of Belarus” organized in Minsk on November 15.
Most Belarusian students go to study in Russia, Poland and Lithuania while most foreign students are from Central and East Asia. The majority of students are from Turkmenistan and Russia. The number of Chinese students is approaching 10%, BelaPAN reports.
