More than 6 bn people live in countries with a serious corruption problem, Transparency International, the global coalition against corruption, says in its recent Corruption Perceptions Index-2015. Belarus has moved 12 positions up, the Index reads.
In 2014 Belarus took the 119th place with the score of 31 points (maximum – 100). Now the country gained 32 points, which comes up to the 107th place, together with Argentina and Cote d”ivoire. The ranking includes 168 countries
2015 showed that people working together can succeed in fighting corruption. Although corruption is still rife globally, more countries improved their scores in 2015 than declined, the authors of the Index state.
Northern Europe emerges well in the index – it’s home to four of the top five countries (Denmark, Finland, Sweden, New Zealand, Netherlands, Norway ). Angola, South Sudan, North Korea, Somalia, Afghanistan, Sudan rank among the 10 most corrupt countries.
