African swine fever returns to Homel region from Russia

The anti-ASF headquaretrs has been set up in Vetka district.

According to Radio Liberty, residents of the areas close to the Russian border massively butcher the swine. Some hosts burn down dead animals.

The African swine fever virus is presumed to return to Belarus from one of the problem territories in Russia. According to official information, several regions in Russia, including Smolensk region, failed to overcome the ASF yet.

The anti-ASF headquarters has been set up in Vetka district. It is headed by Chairman of the regional executive committee Andrei Charnenka. The headquarters watches to make sure the African swine fever does not appear in the settlements that border with Russia.
