The Zhlobin district military recruitment center has referred Alyaksandr Latyshaw has been sent to a mental hospital for an examination because of his membership in Malady Front, an opposition youth organization, reported a human rights organization called Vyasna.
The center’s psychiatrist examined Mr. Latyshaw and wrote in his report that although the draftee had not made any complaints, he was being referred for an examination at a mental hospital “in connection with his earlier participation in the Malady Front party.” The doctor diagnosed the young man with a personality disorder.
Mr. Latyshaw was soon taken to the Homyel Regional Psychiatric Outpatient Hospital. According to Vyasna, the hospital’s doctors so far have not found anything wrong with Mr. Latyshaw. //BelaPAN
