Already for half a year in the depths of the Belarusian opposition grows the idea of the All-Belarusian People's Assembly. However, this idea didn't come further than in a head of some Democrats.
Why the holding of the Belarusian People's Assembly stalls, the former presidential candidate Vladimir Niaklajeu told "Belarusian News".
- It hasn't been decided yet. Because the Assembly, or rather, the success of the assembly is only possible with the full consent of the opposition with regard to its conduct. By the way, echoes of its possible agenda were the conversations about different centers and governments, but in fact only the structural reorganization of the opposition was meant. Someone said, the opposition is weak because it's not systemic, and someone thinks that non-system for the Belarusian opposition is actually the system allowing it to survive whatever happens. There are another more significant issues which require joint solutions. Not only the decision of opposition, but of the entire society.
Therefore, I am not for the opposition, but for the All-Belarusian Assembly. But to achieve the consent of all is not possible yet. There are even those who are against development and approval of the Assembly's overall strategy of the opposition. What to think about them? That they are all the KGB agents?, the politician speaks ironically.
