Representatives of political parties and the democratic community in Belarus decided to make their list of representatives in the Euronest Parliamentary Assembly of the "Eastern Partnership". The decision was unanimously taken during the meeting of leaders of democratic forces that took place March 12 in Minsk.

The original list includes 22 organizations, of which 10 will be selected by preferential voting.

The "top ten" will be selected by representatives of three coalitions - the United Democratic Forces, the Belarusian Independence Bloc, and the European Coalition and the Assembly of Non-governmental Democratic Organisations.

The following organisations pretend to a seat in the Euronest: the BPF Party, the United Civil Party, the Party "Fair World", the Belarusian Social Democratic Party (Hramada), the Belarusian Green Party, the Belarusian Social Democratic Hramada, the organising committees for creation of the Belarusian Christian Democracy Party, the Belarusian Party of Workers, the Belarusian Social Democratic Party (People's Hramada), the Belarusian Party of Women "Nadzeya", and the Party of Freedom and Progress.

In addition, the contenders for a place in the "top ten" of the Euronest are the Movement "For Freedom", the Association "Young Front" registered in the Czech Republic, the Assembly of Non-governmental Democratic Organisations, the Belarusian Congress of Democratic Trade Unions, the Belarusian Association of Journalists and the Solidarity Movement "Together", the Council of Belarusian Intellectuals, and other public associations and initiatives.

The decision to create a single list was made by democratic forces after information was received from the European Parliament. Without waiting for the opinion of the Belarusian opposition, MEPs made a list of organisations which representatives they would like to see in the Euronest.

It is possible that in the end all the efforts of leaders of the opposition will turn out to be futile, and only persons included in the list of the European Parliament will fly to Brussels for a meeting of the organisational session of the Euronest.
