"The boycott of the parliamentary elections should be active. It can be carried out in several ways", coordinator of Belarusian Movement Viktar Ivashkevich thinks.
According to Radio Racyja, the first way is wide information campaign to inform public about falsifications by the authorities and failures in economic policy. Boycotting the elections and the regime is the only opportunity to oppose the criminal policy provided by the dictator, Viktar Ivashkevich notes. He also comments on yesterday’s attempt of opposition parties to agree on the format of the oncoming election campaign:
"It turned out they are thinking about running in the elections, receiving grants and avoiding repression. At the same time, they do not want to be accused of running in the fake elections while political prisoners still remain in jails".
Viktar Ivashkevich noted the other aspects of the boycott include organizing election monitoring by independent observers and organizing mass People’s Assemblies regardless of the moods in the society.
