Leaders of the coalition of six democratic parties and movements were not able to agree on the participation in the upcoming parliamentary elections.
They intended to declare the chosen common strategy on January 31 at 12.00 at a press conference. However, the beginning of dialogue with journalists at first delayed for half an hour, and then excited oppositionists said that consensus was not possible.
As representative of the campaign "Tell the Truth" Alexander Feduta has explained, the debate has gone beyond a civilized dialogue, "switched to high words" and turned into a personal showdown.
Who insulted whom "behind closed doors" is unknown.
Journalists received a working document supposing to begin public discussion about the aims and objectives of the opposition's participation in parliamentary elections.
It specifies the participation of supporters of changes in the election campaign, in order to have a legal possibility for three months to tell people the truth about political and socio-economic processes in Belarus. However, all candidates must withdraw from the election race a week before the voting.
Two members of the coalition don't agree with this position - the BCD Party of Left Party "A Just World".
We remind, that apart them the coalition of six consists of the BPF Party, the UCP, the movement "For Freedom" and the civil campaign "Tell the truth!".
