Co-Chair of the organizing committee of the party "Belarusian Christian Democracy" Vital Rymasheuski commented on the statement of the head of state about the need for political reforms in Belarus.
"This proves once again that the price of the next parliamentary elections is very high for the government", he said.
According to Vital Rymasheuski, "legalization of elections and their recognition by the West are very important" for the Belarusian authorities. "However, the regime is not ready for democracy in the country, but is anyway forced to take such a move for normalization of relations with the Western countries", he pointed out, the press service of the BCD informs.
"These election are a very important moment for the Belarusian opposition", continued the co-chair of the organizing committee of the BCD. – The opposition activists should demonstrate their solidarity and make use of the upcoming elections for the full release of political prisoners, putting it as one of the conditions for normalizing the situation in the country and outside".
