Lukashenka, Medvedev discuss Eurasian integration over phone

Dmitry Medvedev and Alyaksandr Lukashenka had a telephone conversation on Friday to discuss issues concerning "integration cooperation in the Eurasian region", according to the Kremlin press office.

"The presidents discussed practical issues of integration cooperation in the context of the forthcoming meeting of the supreme body of the Customs Union at the level of the heads of government, which is to be held in St. Petersburg on October 19 and subsequent summits of the Customs Union and EurAsEC [Eurasian Economic Community], which are to take place in Moscow in December," the press office said.

Participants at the meeting in St. Petersburg are expected to consider a draft declaration on the formation of the Eurasian Economic Union, discuss the progress of work on a draft agreement on the Commission of the Customs Union, and hear a report on the entry into force of international agreements on the establishment of the Common Economic Zone of Belarus, Kazakhstan and Russia.
