Foreign observers invited to CSTO exercise in Belarus
Representatives from China, Iran, Saudi Arabia and Mongolia have been invited to observe the CSTO exercise in Belarus, Chief of the CSTO Joint Staff Anatoly Sidorov told a briefing on 28 August, BelTA has learned.

"Representatives of non-CSTO member states have been invited to observe the CSTO exercise in Belarus. These are the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the Islamic Republic of Iran, the People's Republic of China and Mongolia,” Anatoly Sidorov said.

The Collective Security Treaty Organization's joint operational and strategic exercise Combat Brotherhood 2023 will take place in Belarus on 1-6 September. The exercise will take place in military training areas and locations in Brest Oblast, Grodno Oblast, and Minsk Oblast. It will include the Interaction 2023 joint exercise involving the CSTO Collective Rapid Reaction Force; the Search 2023 special exercise involving the reconnaissance forces and means of the CSTO armed forces; the Echelon 2023 special exercise involving the logistics support forces of the CSTO troops; the Barrier 2023 special exercise involving the CSTO radiation, chemical and biological protection and medical support unit.

The Skala 2023 special exercise involving the CSTO rescue units will take place in Ostrovets District on 1-6 September to drill nuclear and radiation security.
