Organization of CSTO military exercises in 2022 discussed
The first staff negotiations on organizing and conducting joint exercises involving the Collective Security Treaty Organization troops (collective forces) in 2022 took place at the CSTO Joint Staff on April 26-28, BelTA learned from the CSTO Joint Staff press service.

The basic concepts for holding joint exercises were discussed as well as the composition of the command and control bodies and troops that will take part in the exercises, and how invited contingents, observers, representatives of non-CSTO countries and international organizations will participate in the joint events.

A number of events are supposed to take place as part of the operational-strategic exercise Boyevoye Bratstvo 2022 [Combat Brotherhood]. Under the leadership of the CSTO Joint Staff chief, during a strategic command and staff training the CSTO Crisis Response Center in association with operational groups of the interested ministries and government agencies of the CSTO states will consider in detail the factors affecting the state of collective security, make projections concerning the development of the military-political and strategic situation, determine probability and measures to resolve crisis situations, the press service specified. In Kazakhstan the exercises that combine the training of various components of the CSTO troops (collective forces) will take place, namely the special exercise with reconnaissance forces and assets Poisk 2022 [Search], the exercise with logistics support forces and assets Eshelon 2022 [Echelon], and the command and staff exercise with the CSTO collective rapid response forces of Vzaimodeistviye 2022 [Interaction].

The joint exercise with units of the collective rapid deployment forces of the Central Asian region Rubezh 2022 [Border] will take place in Tajikistan in order to practice the deployment of CSTO collective security system forces for the sake of countering international terrorist organizations.

The command-staff exercise with the CSTO peacekeeping forces Nerushimoye Bratstvo 2022 [Indestructible Brotherhood] will take place during the final stage of the operational-strategic exercise Combat Brotherhood in Kyrgyzstan. Post-conflict resolution in a crisis zone and the conduct of a peacekeeping operation will be practiced.

The events are organized in accordance with the regulation on the procedure for preparing and conducting joint exercises in the CSTO format. The regulation was approved by the CSTO Collective Security Council on 28 November 2019.

Representatives of interested ministries and government agencies of Belarus, Armenia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan, and the CSTO Secretariat took part in the staff negotiations under the general guidance of First Deputy Chief of the CSTO Joint Staff, Lieutenant General Khasan Kaloyev.
