Iran president confirms readiness to visit Belarus

Iran President Ebrahim Raisi has confirmed readiness to come to Belarus on a reciprocal visit. Ebrahim Raisi made the relevant statement when he met with Belarusian Minister of Foreign Affairs Sergei Aleinik on the sidelines of the BRICS summit in South Africa, BelTA has learned.

During the summit Belarusian minister of foreign affairs also met with his Iranian counterpart Hossein Amir-Abdollahian. The two ministers discussed a number of topical matters on the bilateral agenda.

Belarus President Aleksandr Lukashenko went to Iran on an official visit in March 2023. As a result of negotiations the heads of state signed a roadmap. The document provides for comprehensive cooperation between Belarus and Iran in politics, economy, consular affairs, science and technology as well as education, culture, art, mass media, and tourism.
