Belarus' embassy branch to reopen in Russia's Krasnodar

Belarus' embassy branch to reopen in Russia's Krasnodar
The Krasnodar branch of the Belarusian Embassy in Russia will be reopened, Belarus' Ambassador to Russia Dmitry Krutoi said at a videoconference meeting on 10 August to discuss progress to implement the cooperation roadmap between Belarus and Krasnodar Krai, BelTA has learned.

“The Russian government has approved plans to open a branch of the Embassy of the Republic of Belarus in the city of Krasnodar. We are now busy working on this matter,” said Dmitry Krutoi.

He recalled that there was a branch of the Belarusian embassy in Krasnodar, but it was later relocated to the administrative center of the Southern Federal District, Rostov-on-Don, so this will not be opening, but rather reopening of the embassy branch. “This is a very good decision as it will promote our trade, economic, humanitarian and cultural contacts with the region,” the ambassador stressed.

Krasnodar Krai will become the 12th Russian region where the Belarusian diplomatic mission will operate. Now the Consulate General of Belarus operates in St. Petersburg, while embassy branches run in Kaliningrad, Smolensk, Kazan, Ufa, Nizhny Novgorod, Rostov-on-Don, Krasnoyarsk, Novosibirsk, Yekaterinburg and Vladivostok.

Taking part in the meeting were Krasnodar Krai Deputy Governor Alexander Ruppel and representatives of Belarusian ministries and companies operating in the region. They discussed the deliveries of products of Belarus' leading mechanical engineering companies taking into account changes in Russian legislation and the implementation of industry cooperation projects in the region. Cooperation in the water treatment and sanitation industry was assessed as successful, cooperation prospects in breeding and seed production, as well as food industry were explored.

The parties also scheduled the next visits at various levels and discussed their agendas.
