Belarus reaffirms intention to become full BRICS member to Brazil

Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Belarus to Brazil Sergei Lukashevich met with Brazilian Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Maria Luisa Escorel de Moraes the other day. The deputy minister of foreign affairs oversees cooperation with Belarus, representatives of the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs told BelTA.

The ambassador handed over a note that reaffirms Belarus' intention to become a full member of the interstate association of Brazil, Russia, India, China, and South Africa (BRICS). Close attention was paid to enhancing Belarus-Brazil cooperation within the framework of multilateral diplomacy. Readiness for stepping up political, trade, and economic interaction between the countries was noted.

The sides also discussed the importance of deliveries of potash fertilizers to the Brazilian market, prospects of Belarus' participation in Brazil's government programs for private farmers and family farming enterprises.
