Nineteen criminal cases launched for posting personal data of police officers online

The Main Directorate of Internal Security of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in Minsk has opened 19 criminal cases against persons who published information about police officers and their relatives on the Internet, as well as against those who insulted and threatened security officials, the website of the Municipal Department of Internal Affairs of the Minsk City Executive Committee reports.

The head of the Main Directorate of Internal Affairs of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for Minsk, Alyaksandr Manyla, said that 19 criminal cases had been initiated with another 16 people brought to administrative responsibility.

For example, a 25-year-old “wrote unpleasant words to more than a dozen police officers.” And the woman postman “used her official powers and reported information about 35 citizens, including police officers.”

The police department published the confessions of the detainees on a video camera where they say that they repent.
