Claudio D’Amico, a member of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly’s Working Group on Belarus, arrived in Minsk on Monday on a two-day visit.
On July 6, the Italian lawmaker was expected to meet with Vasil Baykow, chairman of the Committee on State System Building, Local Self-government and Rules of Procedure in the House of Representatives, and Syarhey Maskevich, chairman of the Committee on International Affairs and Relations within the CIS, the lower chamber’s press office told BelaPAN.
The press office described Mr. D’Amico as an advocate of an active dialogue between Belarus and Italy, in particular between the foreign ministries.
The Italian lawmaker was an OSCE observer in Belarus’ parliamentary elections last September and attended a workshop on investment environment in Minsk this past March, according to the press office.
