Lukashenka appoints new top security chiefs

On 11 December, Alexander Lukashenka appointed new heads of the Operative Analytical Center (OAC) and President's Security Service (PSC). Colonel Andrei Paulyuchenka who headed President's Security Service from December 2016 has been approved as the new OAC chief. His previous job is now taken over by Colonel Dzmitry Shakhrayeu who served as Paulyuchenka's deputy. Shakhrayeu was the acting OAC head before the appointment. According to Security Council State Secretary Stanislau Zas, Paulyuchenka restored order and organized work at OAC. He described him as an operative worker and "an analytics man", reports BELTA.
Euroradio reported earlier that the OAC leadership was dismissed in mid-October after the work of the center had been assessed by an ad hoc commission at the request of the president. Later, former OAC head Siarhei Shpehun entered an inter-agency commission on IT security.
