Russian paratroopers to take part in drills in Brest region

Russian paratroopers will take part in a tactical exercise of Belarus' Special Operations Forces in Brest region in April 2017. Meanwhile, military experts from the two countries are meeting in Brest for three days to discuss plans for the upcoming joint drills, reports RIA Novosti.

The Russian delegation will visit the Special Operations Forces' 38th Guards Detached Airborne Brigade. During thr drills in spring, Russia will be represented by troops from the 106th Guards Airborne Division from Russia's Airborne Forces. It is expected that a unit or Russian paratroopers from Tula will be dispatched to Belarus.

According to earlier reports, the tactical exercise of two airborne brigades was initially planned to take place in March-April in Vicebsk region where Russian paratroopers from Ivanovo were to participate.
