Civil activist Vyachslau Siuchyk will stand trial in Minsk Central District court at 3 p.m. on April 21, the website Belarusian Pravda reports.
It will be Siuchyk’s second trial in three days. The police harshly detained and beat him near his house on April 19. The activist was accused of swearing in a public place and disobedience to the police. However, the court decided that the case papers were incomplete.
Policemen were waiting for Siuchyk near his house again on April 20. They rushed after him when he entered the lobby.
“I thought that they would detain me again. But they said: ‘We are not going to detain you.’ They gave me the copies of three reports,” the activist said after his second encounter with policemen.
Siuchyk is not the only person the police in interested in. Policemen tried rushing into Maxim Vinyarski’s flat on the night of April 20. Activists are being neutralized before the forthcoming street action Chernobyl Way, human rights defenders think.
