Certain forces in Russia should stop talking about Belarus’ making some U-turn, president Alyaksandr Lukashenka said delivering the annual State of the Nation Address on Thursday.
“Sometimes it is simply disgusting to listen to some of the Russian biased mouthpieces saying that we are conducting sort of soft Belarusization,” he said.
The Belarusian leader reiterated that he considers Russians and Belarusians to be ‘brothers’.
“Some media outlets even stoop to slander! It will come to no good since it is a lie! We are one nation; Russians and Belarusians have grown up from the same root. Here, in parliament, half of our MPs must have Russian blood in their veins,” Lukashenka emotionally stressed.
Then he confusingly mentioned the events that never happened in the history of Belarus.
“Do you want to go back to the nationalist times when they tried to count how many Russian blood flew in our veins? When they made half a country leave due to the fact they were Russians?”
But the Belarusian leader stated that in was him who had defused the conflict which is hardly described in any textbook on history.
