Belarus and Poland have exchanged two men accused of spying, according to Poland's 24-hour news channel TVN.
A Polish intelligence officer arrested and convicted for espionage in Belarus has been swapped for a Belarusian diplomat who was apprehended in Poland after he allegedly tried to recruit a university student as a spy, said the report. The diplomat was reportedly arrested after the young man, a Belarusian citizen, contacted Poland's law enforcement agencies.
When reached by BelaPAN on Thursday, Dzmitry Pabyarzhyn, spokesman for the Committee for State Security (KGB), said that the agency "has no comment yet" on the report.
KGB head Valery Vakulchyk said last June that an espionage case had been opened against a foreign country's intelligence officer the previous month.
