Slovenia was against Belarus sanctions, Slovenian Foreign Minister and vice PM Karl Erjavec said at a meeting with Belarusian Minister for Foreign Affairs Uladzimir Makei in Minsk on March 25.
Sanctions cannot solve existing problems, the representative of the Slovenian government thinks. Good political relations are the basis for good relations between countries, Erjavec stressed. Slovenia values the part played by Belarus in the region especially as regards the crisis in Ukraine, he claimed.
He is ‘happy’ to welcome the Slovenian delegation, Makei said. “It is essential that you have a large delegation. It testifies to you desire to conduct a pragmatic dialogue focused on productive cooperation and realization of projects,” the Belarusian Foreign Minister said.
There are a lot of changes and threats affecting the economic situation in the region now, Makei noted. “We need to discuss a number of problems that need to be solved,” BelaPAN quotes Makei.
