Mikhail Zhyzneuski was among the first fallen Maidan defenders in January 2014.
Monument to the deceased Belarusian Mikhail Zhyzneusky was opened in Grushevskogo street in Kiev, near the place of his death. Zhyzneusky was among the defenders of the Maidan during the revolutionary events in Kiev, which eventually led to a change of government. As reported by UNIAN, the opening of the monument was attended by Mikhail's parents Nina and Mikhail.
According to Radio Liberty, in Ukraine Mikhail Zhyzneusky will be honored posthumously by the Order of the Heavenly Hundred Heroes, together with two other foreigners who were killed at the Maidan. Press Secretary of the Ukraine President, Svyatoslav Tsagolka, said that memory of the Belarusian cannot be perpetuated by the title of Hero of Ukraine, as it is not covered by the legislation.
