Belarus president Aliaksandr Lukashenka on Tuesday commented on the presidential election scheduled for 2015.

He stressed that it will be a test for the government and urged those present officials "not to adjust to the elections." Aliaksandr Lukashenka said that he was offered to hold presidential elections in March next year instead of November 2015.

Lukashenka: "Now the situation is favorable, the rating of the current president is nearly 90%. Let's hold the elections." That would be cheating our voters, our population. We should not do this, let alone put ourselves under criticism. We will go to the people and tell them what we were able to do, what we didn't manage to do but we will. If people want to vote, let them vote, if they don't want to vote - let them not. Let them choose another person.

The president stressed that the presidential elections should be held "in an honest manner" in Belarus.
