Belarusian Foreign Minister Uladzimir Makey met Wednesday in Minsk with Karel Schwarzenberg, a Czech politician and the leader of TOP 09 party who served as foreign minister of the Czech Republic between July 2010 and July 2013.
Milan Eckert, the Czech ambassador to Belarus, attended the meeting as well.
The sides discussed possible ways of stepping up bilateral cooperation, including inter-parliamentary dialogue, and the relationship between Belarus and the European Union, and exchanged opinion on a number of major international problems, reported the press office of the Belarusian foreign ministry.
Mr. Schwarzenberg, who was a candidate the Czech Republic’s presidential election in 2013, chairs the Foreign Affairs Committee in the Czech Chamber of Deputies.
