It has happened at Babruisk Tractor Details Plant.
Two members of the Free Trade Union of Belarus, service engineers Alyaksandr Varankin and Alyaksandr Hramyka, have been fired, Radio Liberty reports. The formal reason for it was the expiration of their contracts. However, the workers think that they were fired for being members of the independent trade union.
Head of the plant trade union group Mihail Kavalkou says that the administration of their workshop wanted Varankin and Hramyka to be fired.
Both activists took part in the hunger strike to protest against the discrimination of members of the independent trade union at the enterprise. It was organized in March 2014 and lasted for 3 days.
According to Mihail Kavalkou, six members of the Free Trade Union of Belarus have been fired from the plant this year. The formal reason was the same – the expiration of contracts.
