Anton Zhylko, an activist with the United Civil Party, was detained in the morning in Minsk.

At 0930 on July 3, police agents came to Zhylko's apartment and told him to follow them. The activist was told the police were to run a preventive conversation with him. When his friends asked the police when their friend would be let go, the officer on duty at the police station said: "Don't wait for him here", reports BelaPAN.

Aleh Korban, the leader of Alternatyva public association, and Uladzimir Siarheyenka,аn activist with the same organization, were detained in the evening of July 2. Human rights defenders do not rule out more preventive detentions ahead of the Independence Day celebrations in Minsk.

Youth activist Pavel Vinahradau left Minsk several days before the Independence Date festivities in order to avoid "preventive conversations" with the police.
