A Slovak government delegation led by Pavol Pavlis, state secretary at the Slovak economy ministry, is to stay in Belarus between June 2 and 4, Dzmitry Mironchyk, spokesman for the Belarusian foreign ministry, told reporters on Thursday.
The Slovak delegation is expected to include Stefan Adam, state secretary at the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development; Frantisek Palko, state secretary at the Ministry of Transport, Construction, and Regional Development; as well as representatives of the Export-Import Bank of the Slovak Republic, the Slovak Investment and Trade Development Agency and the Slovak Innovation and Energy Agency, and businesspeople.
According to Mr. Mironchyk, the visit of the Slovak delegation to Belarus was agreed upon at the 11th meeting of the Joint Belarusian-Slovak Commission for Trade, Economic, Scientific and Technical Cooperation in Bratislava last November.
While in Minsk, the Slovak delegation is expected to have meetings at the Council of Ministers, as well as meet with senior officials at the agriculture and economy ministries and the Ministry of Sports and Tourism, and executives of the Development Bank of Belarus.
A memorandum of cooperation is expected to be signed between the Belarusian agriculture ministry and the Slovak Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development as well as between the two countries` finance ministries, Mr. Mironchyk noted.
On June 3, Belarusian Deputy Foreign Minister Alyaksandr Huryanaw and Mr. Pavlis, who co-chair the Joint Belarusian-Slovak Commission for Trade, Economic, Scientific and Technical Cooperation, are to attend the opening ceremony for a Belarusian-Slovak business forum. The forum was organized by the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry in cooperation with the Slovak Investment and Trade Development Agency.
